A starship crossing the void above a distant world

Fate Moves RPG

A solo actual-play experiment in narrative tabletop roleplaying.

Fate Moves RPG is a solo actual-play project exploring emergent storytelling through tabletop roleplaying games. The series focuses on improvisation, worldbuilding, and narrative discovery. The dice, the rules, and player interpretation shape the story as it unfolds.

The project exists as a long-form creative experiment: part storytelling, part systems exploration, and part personal challenge. Like many solo actual-play endeavors, it demands significant time, energy, and creative focus.

The mostly-unedited summaries of Fate Moves are below on the bottom of the page. Future sessions will be included. There are session summaries here that were not recorded on YouTube.

Status: To be continued. Fate Moves RPG is on hiatus. Existing episodes remain available, and the story of Kieran Winter and Mae Sedano will return.

Ironsworn: Starforged

Fate Moves RPG is played using Ironsworn: Starforged, a science-fiction tabletop roleplaying game designed by Shawn Tomkin. Starforged emphasizes narrative-first play, flexible mechanics, and the use of oracles, randomized prompts that help drive story outcomes without the need for a traditional game master.

The system is especially well-suited for solo and cooperative play, enabling players to explore unknown worlds, confront challenges, and discover story arcs organically through play.
